Immerse yourself in the heart of Abruzzo and enjoy the view offered by the San Panfilo Convent suspended between the Adriatic Sea and the peaks of the Majella
Spoltore
From the Germanic Speltof which its countryside was abundant: it lies on a panoramic hill sculpted by the Pescara river.
The village preserves and preserves a medieval historic center, with civil and religious buildings of architectural value.
Among the events organized by the Municipality and the Associations throughout the year, Spoltore Ensemble stands out. It is an artistic-cultural event held in August, when Spoltore becomes a "City Stage" where theater, dance, music and visual arts are performed directly in the squares and streets, with the public interacting with the artists.
Spoltore Ensemble hosts some of the biggest names in theatre, dance, music and art, firmly establishing itself as one of the major regional and national cultural events. Also important are the religious rites, such as the Good Friday Procession and the representation of the Holy Easter called "Our Lady of Sorrows or Our Lady Running".
Another important promotional project is the Spoltour, which was born from the collaboration between the Municipal Department of Tourism and various local associations. The project identifies and organizes discovery and educational routes for tourists (and not only) to the most beautiful places in the city from an architectural, monumental, landscape and historical point of view.
The Convent of San Panfilo is located a few kilometers from the most evocative tourist and natural attractions of Abruzzo.

SEA
The Abruzzo coast extends for about 133 km between wide beaches, steep cliffs and maritime pine forests. To the north there are wide sandy beaches suitable for families with children, to the south there are picturesque cliffs and coves with pebble and sandy beaches. And then there are the beautiful nature reserves of Torre del Cerrano and Punta Aderci.
The Convento San Panfilo is about 10 minutes from the beautiful beaches and the social life of the city of Pescara and 30 minutes from the Costa dei Trabocchi, ancient fishing machines on stilts typical of this area.
The 40 km of coastline characterized by the Trabocco are certainly the most beautiful stretch of the Abruzzo coast; Here, it is possible to admire breathtaking views, promontories that fall sheer to the sea, taste typical seafood dishes on the trabocchi or have a fleeting aperitif at sunset in the many kiosks that wind along the cycle path that runs along the coast.
MOUNTAIN
Abruzzo is considered the green lung of the Mediterranean thanks to its National Parks and its imposing mountain ranges.
The Convent of San Panfilo is about an hour from the Majella Natural Park, a natural oasis that has different plant species, rare species of animals, high peaks and countless itineraries to be covered on foot, by bike or on horseback.
The Gran Sasso d'Italia massif is also easily accessible by car from the Convent. It is the highest mountain range in the Apennines and peninsular Italy.
These areas offer nature reserves, perched villages, small villages, abbeys and hermitages that will captivate all lovers of history, art, archaeology and nature.
